Fabulous Friday | Pink

Some of you aren't going to know what to do with this post.  If you've known me for any length of time, you'll know that I don't like the color pink.  It's always been too "girly" for me.  Don't get me wrong!  I'm very much a girl!  I love dressing up, I love gossip magazines, getting flowers, and I love being pampered.  But, pink just hasn't been me.  I blame it on the crazy state of mind I was in when I was 12 and thought it would be a good idea to sponge paint my room pink.  With a pink papasan chair and pet net to match.  No lie...

Anyway, as of late, the color has been growing on me.  I've been strangely drawn to it over the past several months and I didn't know what was going on.  I ignored the feeling and would push it from my mind when I saw myself staring at a pink jacket or shirt.

A few weeks ago though, it was like a lightbulb came on and I realized what it was... what the draw was for me.  I'm a visual person (hence the photography thing).  And my "style" includes bringing out colors a bit in my photos I take.  And then it hit me... I like pink because of the COLOR it has!  It just makes things POP!!

Now, please don't misunderstand.  This does not mean I have gone out and replaced everything I own with its pink version.  Oh, it's so far from.  But, I'm starting with an appreciation of the color.  Maybe in a few months I'll purchase a pink accessory... and maybe by the end of the year you'll see me sporting something pink.  But, let's not get ahead of ourselves, eh? :-)

In honor of this pink post, I have a small sneak peak for you.  These two girls are very much into pink!!  And I love it.  Can't wait to show you more!

Pink is one of those things that sneaks up on you... especially for those of us who painted our lives pink and ODed on it at a young age. But it does look fantastic in photos! Thanks for the sneak peak. We loved hanging out with you.

I'm a Greenville, SC based wedding and portrait destination photographer who loves to be behind the lens. I look forward to hearing what you think about the posts and images as I work with amazing people to capture life and give them images they love.
